Self-service ad-hoc installs of FuckSubs Player. Send a friend an invite link; their iPhone registers itself and installs the app.

Setup

Every item must be green before an invite link can complete.

Device slots

Ad-hoc distribution allows 100 iPhones per membership year. Slots are only reclaimed at renewal — disabling a device does not free one.

Run “Test Apple connection” to load.

Signing configuration

Values set in .env take priority and will overwrite what you enter here.

Certificates & build

The .p8 is your App Store Connect API key, the .p12 your Apple Distribution certificate. The base IPA is the unsigned artifact from the Codemagic workflow — it is re-signed on every registration, so upload it once per release.

Apps

Each app is one signable unit. They all share the same devices, certificate and provisioning profile, so adding an app costs an IPA upload and nothing at Apple — provided its identifier falls under your wildcard App ID (com.fucksubs.<slug>). Only add apps you have the right to distribute.

Invite links

One link per person. It is consumed by the first device that registers with it, and each one spends a device slot.

Leave the UDID blank and the link asks the device for it. Fill it in and enrolment is skipped — the invite goes straight to signing and the link installs immediately. A wrong UDID still spends a device slot, so paste rather than retype.

UDIDs already on file

Devices customers submitted through the order form. Adding one provisions it straight away — no enrolment link needed. Each costs a device slot, so add the ones you actually intend to serve rather than all of them.

Ad-hoc distribution is scoped by Apple to internal testing and demos. Installs stop working if the distribution certificate is revoked or the profile expires (one year).
